PLANET NINE FEATURES IN \
May 2019

PLANET NINE FEATURES IN "THE EXTRAVAGANT" The Luxury lifestyle destination offering creative and unique content on all aspects of the Luxury & High Fashion Industries.

Back in the Mediterranean after a five-month cruise to Antarctica Planet Nine has redefined luxury exploration cruising. Launched in May 2018, Planet Nine anticipated the current fascination with off-the beaten-track, long distance cruising. Built for extreme conditions, her imposing profile by Tim Heywood is reminiscent of a military vessel. The interior layout is functional but as elegant as the exterior is rugged.
With safety and performance as well as comfort in mind, the hull and superstructure were built by the commercial shipyard Cantieri San Marco in La Spezia while The Italian Sea Group completed the build to luxury yacht standards.

Exploration is in Planet Nine’s DNA. She is Lloyd’s Register Ice Class 1D and can deal with sea ice up to 15 centimetres. She is equipped with dynamic positioning and zero speed stabilizers for comfort at anchor. Her commercially approved helideck, with an enclosed, below-deck hangar and refuelling facility, is accessed by a lifting platform for an eight-ton helicopter. The hangar allows Planet Nine to handle two aircraft at the same time.

The interior was designed by Tino Zervudachi (Mlinaric, Henry and Zervudachi) known for his use of colour and eclectic aesthetic. The yacht is elegant with stylistic flair yet has a cosy quality and does not feel over-designed. The interior and furniture were custom built by German luxury outfitter Fitz Interiors.
The Upper Deck houses the main indoor living area including a stunning Inside-Outside Salon, an Observation Lounge forward and a super-surround cinema with lounge beds. Business requirements have not been overlooked. A large meeting room/library with adjoining lounge is located on the Main Deck and there is a smaller private study on the Upper Deck.
Guest accommodations are spacious and sleep up to sixteen in eight staterooms including the full-beam Owner’s suite, a VIP on the Main Deck and another VIP with a private outside area on the Bridge Deck. An elevator serves all decks.

The Sundeck with Jacuzzi provides ample space for outside-living and “al fresco” dining. The teak panelled Beach Club is designed for use in hot and cold climates. The spa has a foldable bulwark which, when open, becomes a large sunbathing and lounging area on the sea. The spa is equipped with fitness equipment, a Hamman and a sauna.
Tenders include two high-performance 10m Rupert RIB tenders, one open and one limousine, a 6m Rupert crew boat and a rescue tender as well as personal water craft and an array of other water toys.

Most owners only use their yachts in summer or warm-water winters. Planet Nine is one of the very few yachts that has been designed for summer and colder winter long-range cruising”, says Stuart Larsen, “She is ahead of the curve and exemplifies clients’ growing appetites for new destinations and adventure cruising”.

FRAMURA 3: the most attractive opportunity today in the fast yacht market
April 2019

FRAMURA 3: the most attractive opportunity today in the fast yacht market Custom built, perfectly maintained, high performance, fast planing yacht under 500 GT

Are you in the market for a large, fast yacht with shallow draft under 500GT? And Mangusta doesn’t fit the bill? The 50m Framura 3 is an exceptional opportunity outclassing all yachts in her category in terms of performance, design, maintenance and pedigree.

Build by Codecasa Shipyards in 2013, Framura 3 has had one owner since delivery. Although she has only been used privately in the Mediterranean, the ABS classed Framura 3 is fully compliant with the Malta commercial yacht code for short range navigation.

With hull and superstructure in aluminium, Framura 3 has top speed of 28 knots and a range of 1,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 18 knots. She is powered by 3 MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines, 2600 HP each, coupled with two water jets and a Kamewa booster. For additional comfort at anchor, Framura 3 is equipped with gyroscopic zero speed stabilizers by Ship Dynamics.

The largest of the Sport series, Framura 3 is custom built with aggressive yet streamlined exterior lines and spacious, graceful interior by Anna Maria and Franco Della Role. The interior decor is light, bright and airy. Light oak wood complements the dark wengé floors and the neutral tones of the fabrics are enhanced up by isolated touches of bright colour.

The layout is functional across three decks. There are five staterooms on the Lower Deck including a full-beam VIP. The full-beam Master Suite is forward on the Main Deck and includes a separate private study, his and her bathrooms, dressing room and  a gym with a foldable bulwark which opens up to become a private balcony over the sea. The gym can be accessed directly from the Master Stateroom or the main deck lobby.

Aft there is a large salon with plenty of natural light and comfortable seating. The dining area is located on the Bridge Deck which also has al-fresco dining for 12, well protected from the wind. The dining deck has a large pantry and dumb water to ensure a high standard of service.  Forward there is another sunbathing area which includes observation seating and two large sun pads and extensive storage under.

Framura 3 can accommodate nine crew in four double cabins plus the captain’s quarters on the Lower Deck. An 8m tender is housed in a garage with automatic door for easy launching with a purpose-built crane.
The Beach Club is generous for a high-performance yacht and access to the water is safe and easy.

Established in 1825, Codecasa Shipyard is still owned and managed by the original family. Over the years, the yard has acquired a well-deserved reputation for high-quality, technological innovation, reliability, crisp design and comfort at sea. As the flagship of Codecasa’s proven Sports range, Framura 3 perfectly showcases the yard’s capabilities.

SCOUT DELIVERED
April 2019

SCOUT DELIVEREDBuilt by Hakvoort Shipyard with exterior and interior design by the British Studio H2 Yacht Design

The 63m exploration yacht Scout (former project Brio) was delivered yesterday by the Dutch shipyard Hakvoort. Following her launch in Monnickendam at the end of 2018, Scout was towed from the Hakvoort facility to Amsterdam for final completion.

Measuring 63.72-metres with a beam of 11.6 metres and a draft of 3.25 metres, Diana Yacht Design is responsible for her naval architecture while exterior and interior design are by H2 Yacht Design. Speaking of some of the standout features , Jonny Horsfield said: “The owner’s brief called for a rugged explorer style yacht intended to look like a conversion from a commercial vessel. The whole design process was centered around a romantic idea of original ocean exploration and Scout's design - inside and out - really reflects that. We gave her crisp, distinctive lines and integrated forward sloping windows"
Horsfield continues. "We placed the tenders on the bow, leaving them exposed to add to the utilitarian aesthetic. There is a helideck and a forward observation lounge in addition to an expansive sun deck. She’s a fantastically unique vessel."

Designed for global navigation, Scout is powered by twin CATERPILLAR 3512C diesel engines with cruising speed of 12.5 knots and  top speed of 14.8 knots. She has a range of 4,800 nm at 12 knots and her Lloyds ice classed hull adds to her serious exploration attributes as a 'go-anywhere' world cruising yacht.

Scout accommodates fourteen guests in total with four guests in two staterooms on the lower deck, eight guests in four staterooms on the main deck and the Owner's suite  is located  on a dedicated owner’s deck above.  The lower deck features the crew accommodations in nine crew cabins. Her captain's cabin is situated on the bridge deck.
