OLYMPUS SOLD 55m Feadship OLYMPUS marks Stuart’s first sale of 2026
Stuart is pleased to announce the sale of the 55m/180’ Olympus built by Feadship Van Lent in 1996, Stuart’s first sale in 2026.Following a major refit in 2023, in spring 2025, OLYMPUS completed works totaling about $5million at Van Lent’s shipyard in Amsterdam including significant upgrades and improvements. Asking euro 21,750,000, OLYMPUS represented an excellent opportunity for a buyer interested in a large volume, mid-range classic Feadship with a good charter record.
OLYMPUS was in the best condition ever: beautifully built and impeccably maintained; her original décor built by Silverlining, was by Andrew Winch and has been preserved throughout all guest areas.
One of the most luxurious Feadships ever built (even by Feadship’s exacting standards), OLYMPUS was originally built for eastern royalty. Her clean exterior design reflected Feadship’s shift towards more futuristic design while her striking interior showcased the shipyard’s craftsmanship at it best. In 1997, Olympus won the prestigious International Superyacht Society Awards for the best motor yacht over 43m.
She has exceptional volume, for her length (881 gross tons) thanks to her unusually wide beam (10m or nearly 33’), and a distinctive layout with two master staterooms on the main and upper decks and six guest suites sleeping a total of 16 guests.
OLYMPUS is powered by two Caterpillar 3516 engines and has a 4,000 nm range at 11.5knots, her cruising speed, and a top speed of 17 knots. Cayman flagged, LY2 compliant and classed by Lloyds she is a successful charter yacht although she has been mostly used privately.
