HELIOS 3 SOLDSnapped up as soon as she came on the market, HELIOS 3 was the largest all-composite, full-displacement motor yacht in the world when she was built
Stuart is pleased to announce the sale of the 54m (177’) HELIOS 3, built by Delta Marine. Helios 3 was a yacht Stuart knew well having sold her to her current owner in 2015 and been part of the extension and refit project carried out by Delta and completed in 2017. Much of Helios 3’s appeal lies in her impeccable pedigree and huge interior volume enhanced by the extension which created additional exterior deck spaces and technical areas. No other shipyard in the world had the expertise to undertake a job of this magnitude in GRP and certainly not to the same quality as Delta.
During the 18-month refit, HELIOS 3’s hull was extended by 4m and her bridge deck by 2m. Every inch, from her bilge to her mast, was renewed, replaced, rebuilt or refit. The tender garage was extended to include a beach club area with additional storage and crew areas. Her new exterior lines, originally by the Delta Design Group, refined her overall aesthetic, creating a sleeker, more elegant profile better attuned to current taste.
HELIOS 3 was built for long range cruising. At 11 knots she has a remarkable 5,000nm range, and has covered over 129,000 nautical miles in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Pacific Oceans since 2017. Her heavy-duty fiberglass hull includes 17 layers of resin-infused glass matt with no foam or balsa core below the waterline. Hull thickness averages 30mm up to 50mm in parts and is strengthened with carbon stringers up to 3” thick.
AT 776 gross tons and with over 697sqm (7,500 sq feet) of living area, HELIOS 3’s welcoming “Pacific Rim interior” can accommodate up to 16 guests in 7 staterooms including a private owner’s apartment and spacious guest areas indoor and out.
Conceived as a family home rather than a hotel on the water, the entire main deck is dedicated to family entertainment and includes a media room for games and movies and a gym. The Owner’s private apartment is on the upper deck and includes a study, master stateroom, two dressing areas and a large bathroom.
Classed by Lloyds Register and flagged by Marshall Island, HELIOS 3 has always been used privately. Helios 3 is Stuart’s third sale in 2025.
