The Eastern Med has some of the most unspoiled cruising grounds in the world. Crystal clear water, fantastic sailing, good food and wine, history, culture and a cool party scene if you want it - as a destination it is hard to beat.
The Meltemi winds ensure temperatures are always pleasant in the Islands but the sea temperature is usually around 74F/23C. Turkey can be very hot, over 100F/38C, in midsummer and the season extends from April well into October. Croatia is occasionally wet.
Iconic destinations like Santorini and Dubrovnik get congested due to cruise-ship traffic. But the issue is localized. Facilities are good in tourist hubs. Off-the-beaten track and the islands are beautifully unspoiled with simple but excellent local restaurants.
Access is relatively easy and the larger Greek islands have airports for private and commercial flights. Safety and immigration are not major issues.
